Citizen Fins have teamed up with our colleagues at Sea Watch Foundation to encourage people to participate in their annual National Whale and Dolphin Watch (NWDW). This event will take place between the 24th of July and the 1st of August, and is a fantastic opportunity to get involved in citizen science.
All the sightings of cetaceans recorded during this short period provide Sea Watch Foundation with a snapshot of the distribution of different cetacean species around the UK coast line. Head to their website to learn more about how to get involved and most importantly how to submit your sightings. There are also organised watches in different regions, which you can find out here.
If you sight bottlenose dolphins and you collect photo-ID pictures suitable for Citizen Fins, you can submit them to us and contribute to both projects!
